  • Meal and Supply Delivery for Elderly Residents: Rocky Mountain Deveopment Council (RMDC) is supporting seniors in the Tri-County area by delivering meals and supplies. Call (406) 447-1680 to request support.
  • Helena Food Share serves works every day to eleminate hunger in our community. There are no age and/or income restrictions.
  • Rocky Mountain Development Council coordinates Meals on Wheels for seniors in Helena. Call (406) 447-1680 to learn more about the program
  • Carroll Cares is a volunteer program developed by Carroll College students "to pick up and deliver items, like groceries, needed by those who are unable to leave their homes due to health risk." You can learn more about the program here. Contact Carroll Cares by emailing carrollcaresmt@gmail.com or Shopping Heroes of Helena by emailing shoppingheoroesofhelena@gmail.com.
  • Helena Public Schools is providing Grab and Go meals Monday through Friday for students. Families can reserve students' meals and location pick up daily here.
  • Helena Public School is working with Helena Food Share to facilitate the delivery of weekend Kid Packs.




Tax Filings


Federal and State tax filing deadlines have been extended to July 15, 2020.




City of Helena Water Services


The City of Helena will not disconnect water to households due to late payments or non-payments.

The Helena Job Services is ready to support you in finding a job. You can reach them at (406) 447-3200 or email at HelenaJSC@mt.gov.




Electric Utilities


NorthWestern Energy has suspended service disconnections for nonpayment. Contact NorthWestern if you have having trouble paying your bill.




Child Care for Emergency Services & Essential Workers


Child Care Connections is coordinating child care for essential workers with local community partners. Call 406-587-7786 if you are an essential and/or emergency services worker.




Helena Municipal Court


The City of Helena Municipal Court will remain open and will continue to function in an orderly manner, however residents may experience delays and decreased services.

  • Municipal Court will no longer accept walk-ins for in-person filings and payment of fines; however, Municipal Court staff members are still working.
  • Filings: The five-day hard copy rule is waived until May 1, 2020. Filings can be emailed to HelenaMunicipalCourt@helenamt.gov or mailed to228 Broadway, Rm 105, Helena MT 59601
  • Payments:
    • Option 1: Pay through the online Cite-Pay system: https://www.citepayusa.com/payments/welcome.do?state=MT
    • Option 2: Call the court to extend your payment date, (406) 447-8466 ext 1.
    • Option 3. Mail in check or money order, Attn: Helena Municipal Court - 228 Broadway, Rm 105, Helena, MT 59601
    • Option 4: Call the court to extend your payment date, (406) 447-8466 ext 1.
  • Open Court: There will be no 10:00 AM appearances from March 30 – April 10, 2020. Appearances will resume on April 13, 2020, subject to change.
  • Scheduled Hearings: All in person hearings between March 30 and April 10, 2020 will be continued. New notices will be sent via mail. If you are represented by counsel, please contact your attorney as soon as possible to verify your court dates. This includes Omnibus hearings set for April 1 and April 8.
  • Temporary Orders of Protection: The court is open to receive orders; you must call and notify the Court and staff will give further instruction, (406)-447-8466 ext 1. Served orders must appear. Date and time stated on court papers.

  • Jail Arraignments: Held via video conference Monday – Friday, at 8:00 am. The court will not be allowing walk-in viewing during this time.New hours are in place until April 15, 2020.




Legal Advice for Indivdiduals Affected by COVID-19


Montana Legal Services Association (MLSA) can provide free over the phone legal advice to individuals affected by COVID-19. Individuals can apply at mtlsa.org or 1-800-666-6899. Montana Legal Services has published a COVID-19 resources page and is hosting a series of Know Your Rights and Resources webinars for clients and service providers. MSLA has conducted webinars on SNAP benefits and Unemployment Benefits, contact MSLA to access the webinar recordings.
